Edward McCann

Manager Strategy & Consulting

Edward is a Manager in the CyberCX Strategy Consulting practice. He has worked to deliver a range of strategic advisory services for both public and private sector clients. Edward is passionate about helping organisations better protect themselves from cyber security threats.

Prior to joining CyberCX, Edward worked at the Lowy Institute as a Research Associate and before that for two members of the Australian Parliament. He was previously the Cyber & Technology Fellow with Young Australians in International Affairs.

Edward holds a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Certificate of National Security Policy from the Australian National University, and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Chicago.

Relevant Experience

• Designed and delivered tailored cyber security training uplifting the capabilities of two countries in the Indo-Pacific.
• Coordinated the implementation of the Defence Cyber Security Strategy.
• Developed cyber policy frameworks about the protection of critical infrastructure for the Australian Government.
• Provided incident response support during a major cyber security incident.
• Implemented a complex cyber security communications campaign for an Australian Government Department.
